Dear faculty,
Following the 99th CFA Assembly, the CFA Board of Directors has passed and approved an elected bargaining team.
What does this mean for CFA-LA Faculty?
CFA’s current Collective Bargaining Agreement expires on 6/30/2025. CFA shall commence bargaining early in 2025. Per the CFA Bylaw changes made at the 99th Assembly, each chapter shall elect one faculty member to the CFA Bargaining Team on or before November 25, 2025.
Bargaining Team Chapter Representative Duties
Faculty members elected to the bargaining team should plan to attend bargaining meetings and negotiations with CSU administration typically on Thursdays/Fridays throughout the Spring 2025 semester. The duration of service depends on the progress of negotiations, with terms expiring at the end of each bargaining cycle. If we do not reach an agreement in the Spring, we expect to engage in bargaining until an agreement is reached. The CBA requires management to allow members to schedule their assignments in such a way that they are free to attend bargaining meetings and sessions with management.
Any CFA member in good standing is eligible to serve on the CFA Bargaining Team.
All CFA members in good standing are eligible to vote for the CFA Bargaining Team Chapter Representative. If you are not a CFA member, join today at www.calfac.org/join-CFA. Elections will be cast by electronic ballot.

Elections open 11/14, and conclude on 11/21 at 6:00 PM
Election results will be announced on 11/22 at 6:00 PM
Nominations
To self-nominate, please submit: your name, faculty classification, department, and a brief statement of interest and values (under 250 words). This statement will appear on the election ballot, and the word limit will be enforced.
If you nominate another faculty member, please verify their interest, and copy them on your email nomination. They will need to include their identifying details and statement as well.
All nominations are emailed to: cfa_la@calfac.org. Membership will be verified, and non-members will not be included on the election ballot.
