Dear Faculty,
Hopefully, this email finds you well. We’re writing to invite you to participate in the Button Up 4 Palestine Day of Visibility at noon on Tuesday, April 30th, in front of the Golden Eagle statue.
This event has been endorsed by the CFA-LA Executive Board and CFA-LA College Stewards Council. On Tuesday, we will gather wearing Ceasefire Now/Free Palestine buttons and take a group photo to show our solidarity with the Labor for Palestine movement. It comes a day prior to the May Day for Palestine day of action called by the Palestinian General Federation of Trade Unions and Labor 4 Palestine.
We also want to show our support for students who have been leading powerful protest encampments at colleges and universities across the US and internationally demanding an end to the ongoing genocide in Gaza. We believe these events will be powerful ways to show solidarity with the global Free Palestine movement.
To ensure that everyone can participate, LA Labor 4 Palestine buttons will be available for pickup from the CFA office today (Monday) from 2-5 pm. However, if that doesn't work for you, buttons will also be available tomorrow at noon, right before the event. We encourage all members who wish to participate in this activity to join us and proudly wear the LA Labor for Palestine button.
