At the party, we will take a moment to thank and recognize the tireless work of our 2023–2025 Executive Board. We are especially proud to celebrate Melina Abdullah, Libby Lewis, Leda Ramos and Anthony Ratcliff, who have completed their terms but will continue to fight for CFA’s goals in new capacities. Their unwavering commitment and visionary leadership over the years have been instrumental–guiding our campus and community through the challenges of COVID-19, the George Floyd uprising, and not just one, but two historic faculty strikes that reshaped our collective power within the CSU system.
Finally, we will welcome the returning and incoming EBoard members as they embark on this new leadership journey starting June 1. While we congratulate everyone on the 2025-2027 Executive Board, we also want to take a moment to especially applaud incoming Chapter President Akhila Ananth, who recently became the first person of color in her department to be awarded promotion to Full Professor. She has served as Chapter Vice President and Chair of Membership + Organizing for the past several years. Alongside returning EBoard members Daniel Osoy, Robin Dodds, and Juan Lamata, Akhila will be joined by newly elected members Alejandro Villalpando, Sarra Ben Ghorrbal, Juily Phun, and Corey Bowen.
