No to the corporate university!
Sign-on to the petition against course cuts; updates on Cal-GETC; President Eanes' Town Hall.
The Spring 2024 season is proving to be the season that keeps on giving at Cal State LA!
Over the last few weeks, one common theme is clear: Cal State LA is not student-centered. Because of this, student’s needs are put last, while administrators build on the President William Covino’s legacy to corporatize the People’s University. In response, we organize. Share and sign-on to this faculty petition today: https://forms.gle/jQPBURR6HViUKP36A. EVERY SIGNATURE COUNTS!
Yesterday, President Eanes’ hosted her first town hall during her 100 Days of Listening tour. The town hall was well attended by several administrators, including Deans, AVPs and the interim Provost. Faculty - coaches, lecturers, tenure-line and tenured professors, chairs and directors - testified to their overall concerns with the campus: the ‘Pay First’ system, health and safety concerns at King Hall (and every where on campus), the implementation of Cal-GETC, overcrowded classrooms, course cuts and budget cuts at Cal State LA.
