Historically, the only way we win fair contracts in the CSU is when we (CFA) organize toward a strike (and they usually cave on the eve of it, if we are unified enough!) Tomorrow is the deadline to register your commitment.
The commitment cards are internal union data, not shared with any CSU personnel beyond our organizing team. They basically allow us to know whether enough faculty are willing to take action to win this campaign. (Not filling one out amounts to a "No, I'm not in favor of this campaign" signal to the union.) The cards are important as we strategize about if and when to call a strike authorization vote, especially, since we have moved on to the factfinding stage of the statutory process for bargaining.
If you're curious about sentiment among most faculty and staff, check out the comments below the Koester propaganda video:
You can read all our great proposals, and management's lousy proposals here: www.cfabargaining.org
Students on our campus deserve smaller class sizes and faculty who can focus on one campus - instead of 2 or 3 (or 4) other campuses or jobs to make ends meet. The entire campus community deserves a safe campus to live, work and study on. The best part? CSU management can afford to make it happen, and we can see it for ourselves on the CSU transparency portal: https://www.calstate.edu/csu-system/transparency-accountability/financial-transparency-portal.
Before 9PM, Friday, 9/29, take a second to fill out the Commit Card (red box) here: https://actionnetwork.org/forms/commit-to-take-action-for-a-fair-contract?source=direct_link&
What happens after I sign the Commit Card?
We keep building.

Here are some ways you can participate:
We are actively building our CAT (Contract Action Team) structure. CATs are made up of faculty activists and leaders. If you are interested in participating with the CAT, you can sign-up here: https://forms.gle/tHgDhWXquSkqP5a59.
