Dear faculty colleagues,
You are invited to a Public Budget Forum on Wednesday, April 17th from 3:00–4:30 PM, co-hosted by CFA Los Angeles and CFA Dominguez Hills Labor Councils.
This forum is open to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members, and will offer a space to review and discuss the contradictions and misguided priorities of the CSU’s budgetary choices at Cal State LA and CSU Dominguez Hills. We will also examine consistent enrollment trends alongside the CSU’s investments and financial reserves to shed light on the broader picture of its assets and wealth and to contextualize draconian budget cuts on our campuses.
We have extended invitations to local elected officials as well as Cal State LA and CSUDH administrators to participate as panelists.
Your participation is imperative to our fight against budget cuts that prevent layoffs and compromise the success of our working class students of color. We expect engaging and meaningful dialogue about transparency, equity, and the future of our public universities.
A public press conference will be held at 9:00 AM on Thursday morning outside the University Student Union.
